't Arendsnest, Dutch Beer Cafe in Amsterdam
Established 5 years ago, Peter designed this 'timeless' bar himself, combining old and modern features to create a warm atmosphere. Above the traditional wooden bar and stools hang old ship lamps, that along with the chandeliers are unique to the interior.
't Arendsnest sell 150 different types of seasonal and regular bottled Beer, with 15 on draft. Their policy is that they only sell Dutch Beer, with at least one from each of the 52 Breweries in Holland.
Peter and his bartenders have certified knowledge of alcoholic drinks, also serve you Rum, Cognacs and Whiskey Cream. But you won't find any brand names here, as they only stock original local produce.
It's important to note that as it's a Beer drinking Cafe, they only serve snacks and not proper meals. The closest item would be a soup or bread with meatballs, which is typically Dutch.
Whilst 't Arendsnest remains a convenient Pub, they also offer a tasting session for a group of 8-16 people. Upon booking at any time of the day, a group of 8 may taste 8 Beers for 125 Euro. However it is also possible to have a mini tasting of 4 Beers for 6 Euro at the bar.
Though attracting many local and foreign regulars, this Beer Cafe is the perfect haven for Beer lovers, with the opportunity to sit at the bar or Terrace along the canal belt, to enjoy a pint or 6 with your friends.
Open Sun-Thurs: 4pm-12am, Fri+Sat: 4pm-2am. Closed 25th/26th December.
